Journey 33 is a travel journal geared towards travelers seeking a more authentic experience. It is a fresh and tailored site offering a variety of information with good taste and local findings.
All contributors for Journey 33 were chosen by the founder of the site, Lisa Rosas. These are people in the know that were born in, traveled frequently to, or now live in the city they are providing information about. These creative insiders seek to find local places that will feed their own and others highest desires: from great hotels, good food, local shops and spas. These contributors have the taste level to recommend a variety of places to fill one’s needs.

Lisa grew up in Los Angeles, CA. She also lived in Switzerland, Boston and New York. Upon her return to CA in 1998 she continued her work in the fashion industry as well as exploring her excitement for traveling and writing. An adventurer at heart, Lisa enjoyed the many places to explore on this earth for their cultures, cuisine, history, art, architecture, friends and new experiences. In 2001 she began em Productions in Los Angeles: at the time a production and press showroom for emerging fashion designers. She then expanded the Co to New York and a sales showroom. Work also gave her the pleasure to travel to Paris, Tokyo, London and several states in the US.
In 2009, after researching several publications and travel sites, Lisa found a niche for a missing link: one that offers a variety of tasteful options covering a mix of prices and demographics. So she decided to launch her own site including creative insiders from an array of cities to contribute with their expertise on hotels, food, shops, art and spas. In 2010 Journey 33 launches as an exciting venture to fulfill the needs of travelers that want a more authentic experience. Wether being a family, couple or single with a price range from low, moderate to high, one will find the information to fulfill their needs if looking for a tasteful experience.
Lisa resides in Silverlake with her husband, daughter and son. Lisa and her husband Paulo have completed their first book: Beauty Unwound: his photos in natural habitats and her poetry.

Bio: In Los Angeles, it’s so easy to stay in a design bubble and never have to interact creatively with anyone that pushes my boundaries. When I travel, whether it’s just outside my studio door or 3000 miles away, I’m forced to confront other creativities and cultures that inspire me to no end.
Online Media and Jewelry Design
Favorite places: Kauai, Sedona, NYC, Paris, Cuba, Belize
Inspirations: Love, Nature, Gems, my Husband and two dogs.
Bio: A native Los Angelina, Gabrielle resides in LA with her husband and two dogs. LA is a muse and a demon, a double edged sword. Dining at new and old haunts, discovering hidden gems, and exploring nature in the city are her favorite past times. By day she works in media at a large Internet Publisher, off the clock she is a jewelry designer and a repressed rocker. From the ocean to downtown, she finds her inspiration in hidden alcoves across the city. Though she was born and bred here, LA is a vast metropolis which continuously unfolds mysteriously and miraculously before her, and which she is unfailingly dedicated to.

Bio: I’ve been in the music industry since I started selling/trading live show bootlegs at age 16. For the past 7 years I’ve been in music management. I was raised in NYC and experienced all the variety that exists in just a few miles there. That influence coupled with parents that embraced travel has led me to continually wander and explore on my way through life, locally and globally. So now I seek out the unfamiliar, it keeps me engaged with the world and my own priorities. I’m inspired by the people and their traditions that foster these different worlds existing down the street or across the globe.

Bio: Born in California, I started taking photos after I stole my mothers 35mm Canon ( I was ten). Oh I loved it! I loved the way the camera looked, and how it felt to press the shutter release. By the time I was in Junior High School, the camera was just as much a part of me as my arm. I joined the yearbook and would shoot all of my friends doing their best model poses. It was clear, that I wanted nothing else than to become a photographer. When I could I moved to NY (rumor had it, that NY is where the photographers were, so I arrived with my best friend and some cheap luggage.) It took a few but I finally got my start, a street fashion column in the NY POST. It was the late 1990s so I found joys in capturing styles that varied from a single strap messenger bag look to a slip over pants ensemble.
