Top Restaurants in New York
We had the pleasure of dining in some of New York’s best restaurants. Between the atmosphere, food and service we were very pleased.
Wolf Restaurant
This restaurant is located in Nordstrom. The view is magnificent. We had lunch here and it was the perfect cool Summer get away to rejuvenate. Our favorites were the little gem radicchio salad and the gnocchi which was so tasty and fresh. The mix of pistachios and parmesan in the salad gave it the perfect mix of light and tasteful fulfilling bites. We loved the gnocchi which was the perfect amount of cheese and salt. Some other items that are amazing choices are the grilled octopus, polenta balls, Brussel sprouts, burrata, beet salad and polenta fritters. The desserts look scrumptious from the milk chocolate budino, cheesecake and chocolate mousse.

American Cut
This steak house was an absolute find in Tribeca. It is a modern steakhouse from Marc Forgione serving classic fare updated with NYC twists in posh surroundings. The service was impeccable. The decor was dim lighting and stunning inside. Each plate was delightful and each bite was so tasteful. We started with the biscuits that melted in our mouths. The tuna tartare had a tater tot bottom and filled with avocado and shallots.
We then had the sea bass and halibut ceviche with homemade plantain chips. The Cesar salad was perfectly seasoned. The steaks could not be more perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had the filet mignon and NY steak. This came with a selection of sauces that were the perfect combination.: red wine, bernaise, chimichurri, peppercorn, horseradish, butter, bone marrow and herbs. It was not easy to choose here as each one fulfilled our tastebuds.
We had some sides that went perfectly with the steaks: homemade macaroni, spinach Fontana cheese, mashed potatoes and jalapeño green mashed potatoes.
The wine and mocktail was the best we had!
It was the perfect ending with the famous popcorn sundae: with homemade whip cream, cracker jacks and caramel brittle. The flourless chocolate cake was decadent and tasty.
This is a must to go to to in NY and we will definitely return.

Scarpetta @ The James Hotel
This is the Italian restaurant not to miss while in NY. There are handmade pastas with a sophisticated Italian Menu in an upscale setting. The atmosphere was bustling and beautifully decorated.
We began with the perfect refreshing drinks: sparkling wine Francopelli and a grapefruit mocktail.
The general manager was welcoming and the staff was attentive and warm.
We began with bread with butter, tomato and olive oil. This melted in our mouths. The burrata with peaches, pistachio and balsamic reduction was a combination of tasteful and scrumptious bites.
We loved the spaghetti with tomato and basil as it was light and delicious. The short ribs and bone marrow angloggi, garlic chips and horseradish was one to order for meat lovers.
The deserts were excellent: expresso budding and salted caramel and hazelnut gelato with a chocolate biscotti.

El Quijote at the Chelsea Hotel
This Spanish restaurant in the Chelsea Hotel was a great find. They serve happy hour and vegetarian dishes as well as larger portions and traditional Spanish dishes.
We loved the decor in the restaurant and the lighting was dim and romantic. The Chelsea Hotel is a symbol in NY as many musicians and artists stayed here from Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, Patti Smith and more.
This is a place to grab some small bites and drinks in an International faire. The Sangria was refreshing and light.
The service was warm and inviting.
The Spanish plates were artfully decorated and tasteful. From the pain tomato, purple artichoke salad and mixed greens.
There is also other traditional meals to choose from: the paella, patatas bravas,
We loved the tuna, chorizo and roasted potatoes.

Deux Chats in Brooklyn
A stroll in Williamburg is the perfect Summer evening to stop at Deux Chats which is a neihborhood bar serving martinis, wine and cocktails and seafood towers. This restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. It was calm and friendly. We had lighfare as the menu offered selected items: the deviled eggs had the perfect combination of ingredients. We had the oysters combined with a glass of wine and a mocktail which was perfect for a Summer evening before we took a stroll down the River.
