SF Essentials. San Francisco, CA.

A trip to San Francisco wouldn’t be complete without visiting these essential spots in the city on the bay.

The Golden Gate Bridge takes my breath away. There is always something new to discover and the classics to rediscover. The dynamics of the Mission are completely changing. Valencia/Mission has over 30 new restaurants in the past 18 months.

A nice local place to get a coffee is at Atlas café. Across the way is the Southern Exposure, an artist run project gallery space. While in the neighborhood stop at The Thing Quarterly to pick up your latest artist edition.

My first time for the classic Hotel Fairmont, Hurricane & Tonga Room for a tropical drink is an adventure. The new Royal Cuckoo has live music on Sunday and a outdoor patio. Japantown is mixing the old with the new too, stay at Hotel Kabuki and not to miss Kabuki Springs & Spa check for the dates for the communal baths and book one of the exotic worldly treatments. Explore the recently opened three story megaplex, New People, concept store including film, fashion, art and design goods. Including british tea also serving Blue Bottle coffee .

I know why “I left my heart in San Francisco” was such a popular song. I’m still in love every time I visit.

Another fun adventure enjoy a room with a view over looking the bay bridge at the Hotel Vitale, a terrace is perfect for a unique viewing experience of The Bay Lights. The Bay Lights is the largest LED light sculpture 1.8 miles wide and 500ft high. Its 2500 white LED lights are individually programmed by the artist to create a never repeating display across the bay bridge through March 2015.
